BRIEF HISTORY OF OUR CHURCH.

Bishop JJ Baloyi

The church started on the 8th October 1967 by the late Bishop JJ Baloyi and it was first named Jackson’s drift assemblies of God.

Bishop G.K.Baloi joined them on the 15th June 1970 coming from Randburg. During the year 1970 they got va new place of worship at Avalon which was situated between kiblerpark and Mayfieldpark and the church was now named Avalon assemblies of God . During that time they had 20 members only.Reverend J khoza was the senipr Pastor and the overseer of the church.On the 22nd of June 1975 the Kombi was donated to the church by the white brothers who was helping this church by then, The 3 white brothers who sponsored the church with the Kombi was Brother Kevin Harding, Brother Alcester and Brother John Roux, We felloship with them for 10 years

Year 1980 the church then move from Avalon to Eikenhof, we got the place of worship to the plot of Mr Jan next to the company named Bodgans, we were in this place for 15 years, during the year 1995 the company where Bishop JJ Baloyi and the family was working at moved to kyalami midrand which forced the bishop and the family to move as well, because of the distance from Pretoria to Eikenhof every sunday the Bishop opened another branch by the name of God’s Purpose Ministries in Buccleuch, which is led now by Pastor Godwill his 4th born Son
